چکیده

In recent years in Russia, interest has grown in the development of food and fodder additives and pharmaceutical drugs based on higher mushrooms and their metabolites. Most of these research works are concerned with basidiomycetes, which are widely investigated in many countries all over the world. The involvement of rarely encountered fungal organisms, with complex trophism and ecology, into the circle of investigations, not only would extend the range of practically valuable species but also provide new information on their biology, chemistry and genetics. Our attention was attracted by a representative of the unique group of xylotroph basidiomycetes, Laricifomes officinalis. Lately, this fungus has started to be studied as a producer of biologically active compounds. The following culture medium for the submerged cultivation of L. officinalis in laboratory was selected, g/l: glucose, 20.0; NH NO , 3.5; KCl, 0.5; K PO , 1.0; MgSO , 0.5; 4 3 2 4 4 beer wort of 15 degrees Balling, 115.0. The optimal physical conditions for growing L. officinalis submerged culture either in flasks on a rotary shaker or in a fermenter were selected: temperature, 25-28°C; stirring at 180 rpm; duration, 14 days.

Mycelium differentiation and antibiotic production in submerged cultures of Streptomyces coelicolor.

Despite the fact that most industrial processes for secondary metabolite production are performed with submerged cultures, a reliable developmental model for Streptomyces under these culture conditions is lacking. With the exception of a few species which sporulate under these conditions, it is assumed that no morphological differentiation processes take place. In this work, we describe new dev...

“Gharikon”/”Agharikon” a Valuable Medicinal Mushroom in Iranian Traditional Medicine

BACKGROUND Gharikon is a well-known medicinal mushroom in Iranian traditional medicine and mentioned several times in different kinds of authentic literature. Considering both traditional and modern literature, the aim of this study is to present a review of its biological activities. METHODS Using online databases (e.g. PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar) as well as reviewing traditional med...

Production of Conidia in Submerged Cultures of Penicillium notatum.

Foster, McDaniel, Woodruff, and Stokes (1945) recently described the formation of conidia by molds of the genus Penicillium during submerged growth in liquid culture media. Controlling or associated factors for this phenomenon were described as the presence of a rather high calcium-ion concentration and, in general, the development of considerably less mycelium before spore formation than is fo...

Heterokaryosis and alkaloid production in Claviceps purpurea.

Strain 275 FI of Claviceps purpurea, which produces large amounts of peptide alkaloids in submerged culture, is a heterokaryon; after several generations on agar media, it segregates the single components. These components (by us labeled V, C, and W) are stable and produce almost no alkaloids under described conditions of submerged culture. The mycelium of strain 275 FI consists of hyphae with ...

Mycelium and polysaccharide production of Agaricus blazei Murrill by submerged fermentation.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Over the last decade, Agaricus blazei Murrill has been studied and developed as a novel functional food in Japan, Korea, China, and Taiwan. Due to the low yields, the fruiting bodies of A. blazei Murrill are relatively expensive, and a cheap and stable source of A. blazei Murrill mycelium for commercial purposes is highly desirable. Culture media and conditions were inves...
